【New Video】The Process of Making a Temma-Kiriko

We are pleased to announce the release of our latest artisan process video on Suigenkyo’s official YouTube channel.

As part of our weekly Saturday series, this week’s episode takes you to Tenma, Osaka, to capture the mesmerizing creation process of Temma Kiriko cut glass.

Unlike conventional cut glass, Temma Kiriko is renowned for producing a breathtaking, kaleidoscope-like brilliance that reflects deeply at the bottom of the glass. By custom-making their own tools and seamlessly carving the glass surface into smooth U-shaped grooves rather than sharp V-shapes, artisans unlock a unique technique that beautifully traps and refracts light within.

We invite you to immerse yourself in this captivating process, where a single beam of light spreads like magic through the crystal, transforming raw glass into a sublime work of art.
